Cam turns 2

Another year older. Cam turned two a few weeks back and he certainly knew it was his birthday. I think they were prepping him at childcare for it. He can now tell you how old he is. On Saturday we had the family over for his birthday and he had a robot cake (by request.) He still didn't eat much cake. He simply doesn't have a sweet tooth. His favorite treat is a bowl of sour cream. Go figure.

He got many fun gifts that will keep him busy for many months. His favorite gift so far seems to be the crinkly red confetti that came with Auntie Kim's gift of books. She knew he loves that stuff so it was intentional.

Here's what Cam's been doing lately. His language skill have exploded. He's putting words together into something that resembles sentences and he's pretty good about asking for things. He hasn't yet figured out the difference between You and Me so if we say, "Do you want me to pick you up?" He replies, "Pick you up!" I can't blame him. It really is confusing. He's got a funny sense of humor and he's even making jokes which is really fun. He has a joke of sorts he loves to tell. We sing, "Old McDonald had a farm, EIEIO. And on that farm he had some. . ." and then wait for him to say an animal. What does he always say? Gas Stations. He then laughs and laughs because he knows it is so silly.

A few months back he decided he wanted to be potty trained. It is still pretty early so we're not taking it real serious but we ask him if he wants to use the potty and he sometimes does. So far so good. We'll see how he does in the long run.

He's running. He can climb up on to the dining room chairs. He is pretty good at using utensils.

Here are some of Camden's favorites.

Food: soup (50/50 tomato soup and cream and crackers. Tons of salt added.)

Song: Pomplamoose's version of Single Ladies. What song is that you ask? This one. He begs to watch the video every day.

PJ's: Glow in the dark animals (though they don't really fit him anymore. We put them on his stuffed rabbit Sir Flops-a-lot.

Toy: Brio Trains

Things he requires in his bed at night: Sir Flops-a-lot. TykeLite, Mister Monkey, and one clean kleenex. I'm serious, as I write this he was borderline crying because Chelsey didn't give him a new tissue to take to bed. He doesn't use it but I guess it is there just in case.

That's all for now. We promise to at least consider being better about posting more.
