New Mom Translation #53

So there are a number of things that current moms like to tell soon-to-be moms or new moms. Since they can't possibly explain how cool it is to hear your child's first giggles or what it's like to snuggle in and read a book together, they resort to sneakier tactics to get other people to join the kids club. The books do the same thing -- there must be a conspiracy here.

For example:
They say: "Most women get really nice thick hair when they are pregnant."

Translation: "Some women, probably not you, will get nice thick hair when they are pregnant. Afterwards, it all falls out. Even if your hair didn't get thicker, your pillow will still look like you were sleeping with a Wookie when you wake up in the morning."

Argh.
